I feel left behind. What is special about OpenClaw?
You can use OpenClaw for anything and you don't have to rely on external resources. You can set it up relatively securely such that it only ever respond to you and still give it a wide range of power and skills. And you can have it program its own.
[2603.10165] OpenClaw-RL: Train Any Agent Simply by Talking
We present OpenClaw-RL, a framework built on a simple observation: next-state signals are universal, and policy can learn from all of them simultaneously. Personal conversations, terminal executions, GUI interactions, SWE tasks, and tool-call traces are not separate training problems.
r/ArtificialInteligence on Reddit: OpenClaw is god-awful. It's either, you have to spend a fortune for APIs or have a NASA-level PC to run it local
OpenClaw is an agent runner, not a single chat box. One “prompt” can trigger multiple model calls (planning, tool use, summarizing, memory, web fetch, etc.) if you enable that.

Windows/native update: make package installs use the npm update path instead of the git path, carry portable Git into native Windows updates, and mirror the installer's Windows npm env so openclaw update no longer dies early on missing git or node-llama-cpp download setup.

r/LocalLLaMA on Reddit: Anyone actually using Openclaw?
Could not agree more - IMO, OpenClaw does not do anything new or groundbreaking. Sure they have the chat thing, and letting it run "autonomously", but nothing you couldn't already do with a local llm setup and a few hours of tweaking.

OpenClaw - Wikipedia
OpenClaw (formerly Clawdbot, Moltbot, and Molty) is a free and open-source autonomous artificial intelligence agent developed by Peter Steinberger. It is an autonomous agent that can execute tasks via large language models, using messaging platforms as its main user interface.
Sam Starkman en X: "OpenAI just acquired OpenClaw. I run my entire life on it. I have a personal AI agent running 24/7 on a $30/month virtual machine in Google Cloud. It manages my content pipeline, runs an automated trading bot, scans Twitter for opportunities every 30 minutes, and handles" / X
All built on OpenClaw. Yesterday Sam Altman announced OpenAI is acquiring OpenClaw, with Steinberger joining to lead personal agents. OpenClaw moves to an open-source foundation. This is the biggest validation the personal AI agent space has gotten yet. The creator of the tool I use every single day just got hired by one of the most valuable AI companies on the planet to scale this exact vision.
Defensible Design for OpenClaw: Securing Autonomous Tool-Invoking Agents
OpenClaw-like agents offer substantial productivity benefits, yet they are insecure by default because they combine untrusted inputs, autonomous action, extensibility, and privileged system access within a single execution loop. We use OpenClaw as an exemplar of a broader class of agents that interact with interfaces, manipulate files, invoke tools, and install extensions in real operating environments.

r/vibecoding on Reddit: OpenClaw is a game changer.
I'm not currently using OpenClaw but I definitely see the appeal... In that example - yes it's a one-time investment to set up OpenClaw and a prepaid credit card for it to use - but then it is equipped to do other tasks as well.
OpenClaw-RL: Train Any Agent Simply by Talking
We present OpenClaw-RL, a unified framework that recovers both forms of next-state signal waste for personal agents and general-purpose agents across diverse settings, including personal conversations with OpenClaw [openclaw2026], terminal, GUI, SWE, and tool-call environments.

OpenClaw-RL: Train Any Agent Simply by Talking
OpenClaw-RL is a fully decoupled asynchronous architecture built on slime [slime_github], where policy serving, rollout collection, PRM judging, and policy training run as four independent loops with no blocking dependencies. In the personal-agent setting, the model can be optimized automatically ...
